Favorite thing about wrestling: My favorite thing about wrestling is competing. Tournaments and wrestling high level competition help identify the areas of focus for getting getter. Drilling with my teammates help us all get better. I also like tournaments because its an opportunity to hang out with my teammates and coaches.

Favorite past wrestler/coach: My favorite past wrestler is my brother Tevis. He is the best wrestler I have ever seen in person and has been a huge supporter of me in sports, school and life in general. He's been a great role model and I appreciate him investing time in me.

Goals for wrestling/life career: My goal for wrestling was to be a state champion and to break Bryce Meredith's pin record. I was able to achieve both of those goals this year. My goals for the future are to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Western Colorado and to play quarterback for the Mountaineers.

If you could teach a younger wrestler one thing, what would it be: If I were working with a young wrestler, I would emphasize staying strong when faced with adversity. Wrestling is a tough sport with a lot of ups and downs; it is important to understand that its that requires both physical strength and mental grit to consistently succeed. Learning from your failures and not giving up are important aspects, not just for wrestling, but for every challenge faced outside of the wrestling room as well.
